Palomar Health Physician Alumni Reunion
Honoring the Past, Celebrating the Present and Envisioning the Future
Palomar physicians of years past have been gathering for several months to create a network of retired physicians in an effort to honor past physician leaders who impacted health care in the region - in some cases, for decades.
The Palomar Health Foundation hosted the first Physician Alumni Reunion on March 28, in celebration of Doctors’ Day with 40 retired physicians and their spouses attending the event.
The reunion was initiated by Dr. G. Douglas Moir to honor physicians who served at Palomar or Pomerado Hospitals over the decades. The theme of the reunion was: Honoring the Past, Celebrating the Present and Envisioning the Future of Palomar Health.
Dr. Jerry Kolins, the master of ceremonies for the luncheon, led a presentation that detailed the progress Palomar Health has made over the years. Dr. Ben Kanter shared the latest technology projects taking place at Palomar Health on the foundation of the attendees’ medical accomplishments.
Forty physicians and their spouses toured the new medical center following the luncheon to witness Palomar’s transformation first-hand.
The alumni group was also invited to attend the evening annual Doctors’ Day Awards Reception which was attended by more than 140 physicians, guests and Palomar Health leaders.
