Since its groundbreaking ceremony, thousands of people have toured the new hospital amid construction. The tours were open to community members and organizations for free and many tours were led by the Palomar Health Foundation staff which was safety-trained for this purpose.
Every month, dozens of hard-hat toting tourists made their way through the building. The tours offered insight into the hospital's expansive, unique design which combined high tech within a healing environment of gardens, terraces and outdoor balconies - aimed at providing natural light to help speed healing.
