THE PPH FOUNDATION

PPH Foundation is a Tanzanian non-profit, non-governmental organization legally registered in 2023 with a singular mission of ending preventable maternal deaths caused by Postpartum Hemorrhage (PPH) the leading direct cause of maternal mortality worldwide. Founded after witnessing the devastating loss of mothers due to delayed recognition, inadequate emergency response, and limited access to lifesaving interventions, PPH Foundation exists to ensure that no woman dies from postpartum bleeding, regardless of where she gives birth. The PPHF work bridges the gap between communities, healthcare systems, researchers, innovators, governments, and global partners by developing practical, evidence-based solutions that improve maternal survival from pregnancy through the postnatal period. Driven by innovation, research, advocacy, technology, and community action, the Foundation is building resilient maternal health systems where every woman has timely access to quality emergency obstetric care.

OUR MISSION

ZERO PPH MISSION

Since Our establishment in 2020, PPH Foundation has translated our vision into measurable community impact through the Zero PPH Mission, a district-wide initiative designed to ensure that no woman dies from postpartum hemorrhage. Working alongside local governments, healthcare providers, community health workers, and village leaders, we have strengthened maternal health services across 549 villages and 558 health facilities in Southern Tanzania.

Through continuous community awareness, emergency birth preparedness, timely referral systems, healthcare worker capacity building, and improved postpartum hemorrhage response, our interventions have contributed to zero recorded maternal deaths from postpartum hemorrhage within our implementation areas.
