The PPH stories which inspired our Mission

In June 20th 2018 We arrived at a small village just after the funeral of a 19-year-old first-time mother. Her newborn slept peacefully, unaware that the woman everyone had celebrated only hours earlier had bled to death on the bedroom floor while relatives searched for a motorcycle.

In March 2019 We met a family where four young children had lost their mother just hours after childbirth. Her husband spoke of the helplessness of watching her bleed while waiting for transport that never arrived.

In 2019 One elder told us, "When one mother dies from postpartum hemorrhage, the whole village mourns." Farms are abandoned, children leave school, and grandparents become parents again. We understood then that maternal death is never just one family's loss.
